The Three Kings parade
In Spain the presents come with the Three Kings rather than with Santa, and the parade on the evening of 5 January is the biggest family event of the festive calendar.
The route
The cavalcade starts near the port at around six in the evening and works up through the centre towards Paral·lel. The city publishes the exact streets each December.
Getting a spot
Claim pavement an hour ahead for anything with a clear view, and pick the later sections of the route, where the crowds are thinner but the floats are identical.
The morning after
Shops stay closed on 6 January and families are at home opening gifts, so the centre is unusually calm. A good morning for a long lunch and the lights in daylight.
